A celebration of Carol Bowler’s life.
Sally, Sue and family have asked to share the following story behind why giving donations to the Sunshine Cat Rescue is so close to their hearts.
Many years ago, Mum adopted a tiny frightened little cat called Molly who had been mistreated by her first owner. In time, with Mum’s love and patience, Molly learned to trust her and the two became best friends.
Molly was her constant and loyal companion as Mum’s health faded. Through the long months of lockdown, Mum was advised to shield, being on the NHS extremely vulnerable list. Mum often said how lost she would feel if not for little Molly.
When the Doctors made it clear that Mum would not come out of hospital this last time, we desperately tried to re-home Molly. But Molly also had health problems and finding anyone to take her in seemed impossible. Luckily Sunshine Cat Rescue kindly agreed to sponsor her, a huge relief to us all. They paid all her vet treatment and care costs while Molly was fostered by a Vet nurse.
Sadly despite the best vet care, Molly became more poorly herself and was put to sleep the Friday before Mum’s funeral service. We like to hope they are together again now and we owe Sunshine Cat Rescue and the amazing staff of the cat clinic a huge thank you, which is why we felt this is the right place to donate in Mum’s memory.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts, from little old Molly and from Mum (Carol).
